W7 'Lightly Toasted' palette

27.2.15

W7 were kind enough to send me one of their gorgeous eye palettes in 'Lightly Toasted', a lip bomb in 'Raspberry', and their black liquid eyeliner. W7 are a London based cosmetics company, and their aim is to allow people to have access to a wide range of high quality makeup at affordable prices. Personally, I've been a fan of this particular company for as long as I can remember, so I'm delighted to be reviewing some of their pieces!

The quality of these eyeshadows are so high, they're super easy to blend together and the colours are stunning. The pigmentation is incredible, easily build-able and can create some stunning looks. Only 2 of the 12 shades are matte, and the rest are shimmery. As you can clearly see, it is a very versatile palette and can be used to create a smoky look, or an every day look with some of the shimmery pinks and browns. My favourite shades are 'Teddy Bear', 'Wonderland' ( both shimmery pinks ) and 'Lady Luck', which is a beautiful dark matte brown. This retails at £9.99.

When I opened the package W7 sent, I originally thought this was an EOS lip balm, which is one of my favourite brands. In my opinion, this is just as good, and it's very very similar to EOS's 'Pomegranate Raspberry' lip balm. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, this lip bomb in 'Raspberry' is the way to go. I can't find this on the website, but there's a set of 3 here for £6.

I've recently run out of my favourite liquid eyeliner, which was Collection's 'Fast Stroke', and yes, you guessed it, the quality is the same, if not better. This has surprisingly long staying power, around 5-6 hours before you need to re-apply it. It retails at around £5.

Overall, I'd really recommend all of the products I've mentioned. The eyeshadow palette is so versatile, and the extra bits are excellent dupes for some other of my favourite makeup pieces.

although I was sent these items to review, it does not influence my opinion and I have been 100% honest as always

Columbia Road

21.2.15

Columbia Road, a.k.a heaven. I've been wanting to come here for a while, and I came on a super rainy Sunday at 9 which turned out to be the best time. It felt proper countryside-y, with men shouting out in cockney accents about tulips. I came home with a huge bunch of lavender and smelling completely of flowers. Along each side of the roads there are loads of lovely vintage shops and coffee shops, you know what that means - I spent about an hour in each one. If you live near London and want a nice day out I'd really suggest you take a trip down Columbia Road, it's really really beautiful.

the purple rosebud

19.2.15

I received this dainty opal ring and double heart wrap ring recently from The Purple Rose Bud. As you can see, it came with their gorgeous business card, with all the information I needed. Some companies I work with don't send a card or any information, which is quite irritating as I sometimes I don't even know who sent it, so this was a perfect finishing touch! I love how dainty these are, and how elegant they look when on. The opal especially, it's so pretty!

They would look nice if you paired them with a few other simple rings or bracelets. I've received lots of compliments since wearing these two rings, I really really love them!

boho print tunic top

17.2.15

shoes - adidas

I thought I'd shown this already in an outfit post, obviously not. Aimee and I decided to go to Kew Gardens - the weather was lovely, I was wearing my 'uniform' ( this top ), so of course it was fate and we had to take some pictures. It's part of my attempt to be more adventurous with clothes. I absolutely love it - is it a tunic? A dress? We'll never know. The print is so stunning, and I don't own anything else with cut-out shoulders. It's super easy to wear dressy, and casual with a chunky cardigan over the top.

10 things I love about you

15.2.15

Bit late, as Valentine's Day was yesterday. But I hope you all had an okay day. Even if it ended up like mine - watching horror films at 7pm with scaredy cat friends ( aimee ) and eating sushi. This post will be featuring 10 things I love, and I hope you enjoy it!

(This post is part of a little blogger series I'm taking part in called the "secret blogger project 2015" run by teen bloggers Emily , Rebekka and Charlotte. current wishlist

12.2.15

1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9

Wishlists are basically a go-to post for all bloggers, because they're so easy to do, i.e, you don't need to go out of your house to take outfit photos and you can just stay put with a cup of tea. Also, there always seems to be 277957376437856 things I really really want. My friends think it's weird I have pages of notes on my phone of this stuff. I say it's convenient ( look who's not asking for socks this year eh ).
Here's some things I've been drooling over recently. I'm trying to gradually make the items in my wardrobe a bit nicer, and I'm already in full-on summer mode. I'm not even kidding ( it can't be just me who's never prepared for any season clothing-wise ).
I love the sunflower dress. If you go onto the website it has a crossover back which is really pretty and I'm really hoping I can wear this in the summer. Unicorn t-shirt ( obvious essential, any explanation needed? ). A Living Proof styling product that needs serious investment as a futile attempt at taming my hair.

now playing: I've had this on repeat for the last 2 months

winter party grwm

10.2.15

dress - ark
shoes - topshop

Hiiii. Today's post is very long-awaited on my time-table, and it's been put off for weeks. It's a winter party get ready with me - yaaaaay.

This is a collab post with one of my best bloggy friends, Rebekka. She's so gorgeous and kind and her blog is so pretty and engaging. I really suggest having a read through, she's very talented at writing!

The first thing I need to do is have a shower using really lovely smelling products, and shave my legs. I always feel so much more confident and clean after this. I've also been recently using the Body Shop's tea tree range, I'm obsessed. My favourite two products are the Squeaky Clean Scrub and Toner Water.

And here's a picture of me trying to be hipster when I was getting ready.

I'm aware this picture turned out really blurry but I think it looks nice! The perfume I used was Taylor Swift's 'Wonderstruck'. I didn't just buy this because of her ( I'm not her biggest fan ), but the smell is so sophisticated.

For the makeup I decided to keep it pretty natural, and used pale shimmery shades from my Sleek 'The Storm' palette. Of course I had to use Soap and Glory's 'Supercat' eyeliner to make a winged effect, and on my lips I'm wearing a berry pink, glittery lip gloss from the Natural Collection, which is kind of old so I don't know the shade.

My dress is from Ark and I really love it. The lace detailing at the top is just stunning and I love the fit!

Thank you for reading, I hope you found this post interesting and it maybe inspired you to get out of bed and stop eating nutella with a spoon. You, yes you, get off netflix for a while.

Don't forget to read Rebekka's blog!

makeup bag essentials

8.2.15

You know those things you can't leave the house with? Those products that seem to be able to fix whatever happens to your face during the day? We all have them, and these are mine. I can obviously leave the house without most of these, but lets say I was going on holiday for a few weeks, these items would definitely be coming with me.

makeup bag - urban outfitters

Benefit The Porefessional
Primer isn't something all people would say they need or use, but with my skin, makeup tends to slide off my face. This really helps it stay put all day.

Benefit Fake Up concealer
As well as being an outstanding concealer in terms of coverage, this is really easy to carry around, and the lid doesn't fall off which sometimes happen with other stick concealers. Around the actual product in the middle, there's Vitamin E appleseed extract, which means it's super moisturising and doesn't crease.

Rimmel Clear Complexion powder
This is my absolute favourite powder, it keeps my oily skin under control and eliminates shine throughout the day.

Nyx jumbo eye pencil in Black Bean
I usually use this on my lower waterline to define my eyes. My eyes are actually quite small so I find if I don't wear this they disappear into my head..

Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner
This is another holy grail product for me. I've mentioned this before in my 2014 favourites, so I won't go into too much detail, but I love using this for a cat-eye effect.

Milani baked blush in Luminoso
The colour of this seems to go with any makeup look, meaning I don't have to switch up my blushers too often. The one thing I don't like about this is the packaging, flippin impossible to open.

Rimmel Wonderfull argan oil mascara
A good mascara really really helps you to fake a good night's sleep by making your eyes look bigger, and this is one of my favourite mascaras to achieve this.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette
Again, I mentioned this in my 2014 favourites, but ohhh myyy, the beautiful colours and the pigmentation are just perfect.

Nivea lip butter in Blueberry Blush
I have been obsessed with this and some of the other flavours from the range recently, this is by far my favourite. They leave your lips feeling so soft for so long, and they work as a really good base for a lipstick or lip product.

Revlon ColourBurst laquer balm in Demure
This is one of my favourite nude lip products, however it's still quite pink with some shimmer so is a very natural, easy to wear product. Also it tastes like peppermint ( obviously that makes it a winner ).

Petersham Nurseries

4.2.15

HI GUYS I FOUND TUMBLR HQ. Not really, but lots of photo opportunities. Hidden away outside Richmond Park, Petersham Nurseries is a reaallyy yummy restaurant/greenhouse/shop. I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for garden centres and greenhouses, so as you can imagine I went crazy buying everything. 2 cacti, a painting of a lemon and a glass plant pot. I don't know either. The reason they aren't that many photos is because I was sprinting about in excitement, and all the good shots were completely out of focus..
If you're in the Richmond area and have a spare hour or so, I'd really recommend going here. The food is amazing, you'll spend hours in there and THEY HAVE AESOP HAND SOAP AND BALM IN THE TOILETS!!

the body jewellery shop

2.2.15

A few days ago I received a very exciting package from The Body Jewellery Shop, with two gorgeous pairs of earrings. The ones I chose were the jewelled clear heart and the dark blue dice, they stood out to me so much and I keep dreaming up what I can wear them with! However if these pieces aren't for you, the website has such a wide range of jewellery for such affordable prices, you're sure to find something you love. Not gonna lie, I expected the quality to be not so good considering the prices, but they're just as good as any other earrings you can buy.
I was drawn towards their ear piercing products too, I'll definitely be ordering some of those ( if I ever get another piercing on my ear.. I wish )

although I was sent these earrings to review, this does not influence my opinion and I have been 100% honest as always
